The heavy rains in the area flooded the Schuylkill River. I only live about 4 blocks from the river and decided to check out the status. The river is easily 10-20 feet above the normal level. It was really an incredible site. The SEPTA tracks were flooded over and they evacuated the office buildings in West Conshohocken and cut the power to prevent damage.
Kim and I biked down to Manayunk to see the Commerce Bank Triple Crown of Cycling- Philadelphia International Championship. A very long name for a very long race. The most famous part of the race is of course “The Wall”, one of the steepest climbing hills in professional bike racing (pictured below). Oh, and the fans like to party a bit – can you tell?
